Zino Davidoff
Davidoff, recognized throughout the world for its contribution to contemporary men’s luxury lifestyle, launched a new global website. The new website serves as a platform for the various product lines of Davidoff and showcases fragrances, watches, writing instruments, cufflinks, leather goods, eyewear, coffee and cognac.
Project description
*New global (digital) brand strategy*
This digital platform is part of a new global (digital) brand strategy. The website needed to appeal to and inspire contemporary men around the world and combines branding and storytelling with product information. The platform is ready for the future with the possibility to integrate a headless ecommerce solution right into the existing products section.

*UX, motion and visual design: Zest for life*
The (digital) world is continuously changing, the only constant is the feeling a design gives us. For Zino Davidoff this feeling is described as “zest for life”. Sharing pleasurable moments and a discerning taste for the finer things in life. Where elegance and beauty merge with sophisticated comfort and a refined attention to details. This rationale has been the base for the website’s design, including UX and motion design and the new photography and brand movie (see https://www.zinodavidoff.com/our-brand).

*Rich content*
The main content are the articles (“Zest for life”), the brand story and the four different product categories: accessories, fragrances, coffee and cognac. Highlights are:

- Languages other than English are only shown when the visitor has his browser set to that language, or an IP address from that country
- Mobile first (UX) design
- Up to quality standards such as performance, SEO, accessibility and GDPR compliance
1. The website is available in 8 different languages, however not all content is translated into every language. Languages other than English needed to be hidden for visitors by default, and only visible when the visitor’s browser is set to that language, or the visitor has an IP address from that country.

2. As Zino Davidoff is a global brand, the platform needs to perform around the world. A smart hosting solution with Platform.sh makes sure that performance is guaranteed.

3. The website needed to be compliant with privacy regulations such as the GDPR, but also age regulations regarding alcohol which differ per country. All cognac related content is placed behind an age gate, which content managers can turn on and off where needed.
Community contributions
The project is developed with our own headless Drupal 8 and React framework called Headless Ninja (HN). It is fully open sourced and consists of multiple smaller sub modules for easy extension and high performance. By also publishing the Javascript parts on NPM a headless React/Drupal website can be created instantly. More info on https://headless.ninja/.
